BreakThyme Catering – WordPress Migration with Online Ordering & 3x Lead Generation
Migrated Miami's favorite corporate caterer from a clunky WordPress/WooCommerce setup to a streamlined Next.js platform with custom ordering, tripling monthly catering inquiries.
The Challenge
BreakThyme Catering was running a WordPress site with WooCommerce that was painfully slow, had a confusing ordering process, and looked dated on mobile. Corporate clients were abandoning the checkout process due to 8+ second load times and a clunky multi-step form. The brand needed a modern, fast platform that could handle same-day catering orders for 5 to 500 guests.
Our Solution
We rebuilt BreakThyme from the ground up as a Next.js application with a custom menu browsing experience, streamlined quote request flow, and optimized imagery. The site features service-specific landing pages, newsletter integration, and an SEO strategy targeting "drop-off catering Miami" and related corporate catering keywords.
Key Technical Decisions
- Next.js 14 with optimized image loading for food photography
- Custom menu display system replacing WooCommerce overhead
- Service-specific landing pages (Corporate, Social, Delivery) for intent matching
- Structured data for FoodEstablishment and catering service schemas
- Newsletter signup with automated drip sequences for lead nurturing
- Mobile-first design for on-the-go corporate event planners
Results
Post-migration, BreakThyme saw an immediate 3x increase in catering inquiries. Page load dropped from 8.4s to 1.2s, the quote request completion rate jumped from 12% to 67%, and the site now ranks on page 1 for "corporate catering Miami" and "drop-off catering Miami." Mobile traffic conversion improved 420% as corporate clients can now quickly browse menus and submit orders on their phones.
